Hey everyone!!!

Welcome to the new UL blog network (for VIP members only!)

In my blog I will try to keep the UL community as up to date as possible with site updates and features too!

Scheduling Games 9/24/2009 1:27:00 PM

Scheduling games should not be a huge deal.

I see a ton of owners standing up other owners, no showing at scheduled times, etc - and my questions is 2 fold:

Why...and WHY????

WHY does anyone get on the 360 to sit and wait for someone without some type of confirmation that the other owner is getting on as well?  There's no way I schedule a time with someone and then just jump on the box to sit and wait for time is precious to me.  If we setup a game for a certain time - text me when you are ready to go - we then have a confirmation that we are both ready to go.  No wasted time.

WHY would you schedule with someone and not show?  Send a text...send an them...something other than standing someone's common courtesy.

Guys and gals...we have phone numbers on the site - why aren't we using them?  Only league members can see them...In this day and age of texting being a normal form of communication - why on earth are we not using this to best of our ability?

I hope to see everyone crack down on poor scheduling in feedback.  After a few neutral feedbacks and the possibility of losing your VIP designation, maybe slacker owners will think twice about being a poor scheduler.

OK, my rant is over :)

THANK YOU!!! Let me no that you not coming!!! What i dont get is why people dont use there MSN or TEXTing....they expect people to play xbox and find them on there which isnt the best way to get in touch!!! GREAT POST!

Yeah, not many players get on msn, with the exception of a few, when I am signed on all day; even while at school. Drop a line, tell me when you can play and I'll respond ASAP. I haven't tried texting other members since my emails get answered, but maybe I should try it out. Seems much easier and less of a hassle. I've only had to deal with one no show, so I haven't had that happen much.

well said. If you schedule a game be there. If you can't make it then email/text/im/pm the other player to let them know.

And keep a few members' phone numbers with you all the time. NakedBuddha, for example, will text me and ask me to send a 360 message to his opponent if something's come up and he can't make the time. Heck, nobody wants to sit around for a naked buddha only to be stood up.

My texting machine also has "phone mode". what happens with this is that you can place a call to the number you are texting and speak to the owner on the other line. I know its soooo early millenium but so long as its not middle of the night I personally dont have a problem with it.

also, scheduling is a two way street. dont sit and always wait for people to get ahold of you. be proactive and look ahead and se who you play etc and send them your schedule and good times that you can play. dont wait on others. that is all!!
