Well, I'm going to make my first blog EVER right here at UnitedLeagues. I'm going to start with a little diddy about myself and what I do.
I'm a 33 year old red head that has been a sports freak all of my life. I've played baseball(in some form) competitively since I was 3 and will until far into my 50's(I hope). I'm a HUGE Oakland Raiders fan, always have been, always will be. I've always been an Atlanta Braves fan, but find myself a larger Yankee hater. Until about 4 years ago, I could really have given a rats ass about hockey, that is until I attended my first University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey game. WOW!! I have been hooked ever since and have travelled to the last 2 Frozen Fours where the Sioux have participated, all be it poorly(To Hell with BC and Nate Gerbe!! ) I've had the joys of watching future NHL superstars play with the likes of Zach Parise(NJ), Jonathan Toews(Chi), Travis Zajac(NJ) Drew Stafford(Buf) Matt Greene(LA). I could go on for days and the list would continue to amaze! Here is a did you know for Fiddy: Did you know that if Sidney Crosby had chosen to go the college route, he was verbally committed to UND? Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
I have worked as a correctional officer for over 6 1/2 years and am the Senior Sergeant on staff. The facility I work in is considered a county jail that houses an average of 90 inmates. We house Federal Adults that are going through pre-release where they are introduced back into society. We also hold Federal Juveniles from all over the country. We can hold up to 26, but currently have only 20. When it comes to juvies, they send us the worst of the worst as we have a reputation for being able to get the best out of them. I'll tell you what, the North Dakota spirit is a wonderful and contagious thing! It is an exciting job that I enjoy tremendously. There are no 2 days the same and I think I would find most anything else I were to go do to be boring.
Well, that is enough rambling on, my next blog entry should be more enjoyable.
