P90X on ESPN 3/16/2010 10:42:00 AM

Hey guys, remember me talking about P90X?  You don't?  Sure you do, think...... think harder........ THERE YOU GO!  See, I knew you would remember, lol.   If you watch ESPN on tv, or even listen to them on the radio, you cannot avoid hearing about P90X.  Yes, I own the DVD series of P90X.  And I am getting ready to start another round of P90X.  Wanna join me?  It's much easier when you have a support group to stay focused for 90 days.  It's really a lifelong thing, but the program is set for 90 days.  What do you do after 90 days?  Well, do the program again.  You can do more reps, more weight, more pullups, etc.  in the 2nd round (days 91-180).  There is a P90X+ dvd series if you want.  There is INSANITY, another workout series offered by Beachbody.com.   I will be a coach again come April 9th, if you want to purchase these dvd series through me.  Or you can do like I am, just keep on doing the P90X.  My goals are higher this time around, and so far, so are my reps.

The nutrition guide that comes with the program is a major player in the program.  NO, it's not a diet.  It helps you to eat CLEAN.  Also, on another website, there is a nutrition plan you can use.  That site is www.wowy.com  However, if you sign up for that site, they will assign you a FREE beachbody workout coach.   I would appreciate you asking for me to be your FREE workout coach.  No, it does not cost you a thing to have a FREE beachbody coach.  Hence the letters F R E E.  But keep in mind, I'm not a coach until April 9th.  So patience young padawon's.

Wig and Gambler, are you boys still doing P90X?  If not, let's start this backup TOGETHER.  If you are, share your experiences with us all please.   Ya know, on beachbody.com, and even Facebook, there are support groups you can join to start your P90X journey together.  The first time I started P90X, I was in a group of over 300 on beachbody.com.  Everyday I would go to this forum and discuss what I was going through.  We would offer each other advice, on eating better, or workout tips, supplements, etc.  It was a support group.  And I'm not sure I would have stayed as focused as I was if not for the group.

You can PM here, or send me a message on FB, or even reply to this blog if you have any questions.  I know some of you have asked me about P90X in the past.  Yes, I still workout to P90X, and I can honestly say, I receive better results from this program, than I ever have when I was going to the gym.  I have worked out all my life, used every supplement you can think of, and NOTHING ever gave me the results that this program did.  It's REAL!  If you have an hour a day, and the dedication, then give this 90 days to a better YOU!

It was a year ago this month that I started P90X.  I weighed in at 192 lbs to start the program.  At the end of the 90 days, I was 172 lbs, and had a 6 pack, (no, not in my fridge, on my person).  I let winter get the best of me this year, and it's time to start the program again.

Ever see some of the P90X infomercials?  Those are not actors, those are real people who achieved real results.  In fact, I am friends with 3 of them on Facebook and have been for over a year.   They too are all beachbody coaches, like I soon will be again.   I am even friends with more than just those 3 people on FB that all do P90X.  We are all like a family now.  So what are you waiting for?  Let's all get in GREAT shape together.  So when we are sitting behind our controllers, we look and feel good.

Than I'll rest like they say(but will start Karate and just run and do the ab, yoga and cardio DVD's just to stay focus)I still hate the Yoga man and Plyo is still my fav. That Core dvd is starting to become a fav for me to man. My only problem is Im not loosing weight. Started 220 now 227 WTH ha ha ha. Has to be the Protien shakes and NoS pills. Carzy thing is I look more rip.

The reason I started taking the protein shakes and nitro oxide pills is because after my workouts for the next 2 or so days my body would be sore as hell. I could not even wash my back that was some BS man ha ha ha. After taking the pills and drinking the shakes the soreness went away. I even notice an increase in reps on the days I really wanted to go hard. It made a difference. The chest routines are still killing me. Im really trying to get rid of this 48 A cup I have ha ha.

But ist hard to push up 220+ pounds. Now the 220+ does not look bad on me ( you can see a vid of me on my facebook page) but if I can get to 215 220 Ill bee fine with that. Hell Im 38 and Im not trying to go back to 150 20yrs ago. At 6feet 220 is good for me :)

Awesome stuff Wig. Keep pushin' play! If you were working hard, (I am sure you were), but not taking some kind of recovery drink after your workout, yes, you will be sore. The protein drink is helping your muscles recover faster. Recovery drinks have a purpose and really work. On the N.O. products, (I take them too), but keep this in mind. The N.O. opens up your veins to give you better pumps. You have veins inside your head, so keep that in mind. I was reading an article the other day

that simply said, N.O. products could be causing headaches. Just something to think about. If you like organge tasting drinks, the Orange Recover drink they talk about on all the dvd's, really is AMAZING! Tastes GREAT and really helps you recover from your workouts. All the other supplements I take, (protein), I buy at Vitamin Shoppe. If you ever want to really want to push yourself, buy the Perfect Pushup bars. HOLY COW! Your reps will go down in pushups, but you get ripped faster with chest.

Irish, first you need the P90X dvd's. If you can wait til April 9th to order from me, great. If not, get yourself the dvd's. I would go to ESPN to order it, there is a link there. The cost is the same if you order from me, but I get 25% for being the coach that sells the product. No biggie. Just get yourself the dvd's. You will also need pull up bars (I bought mine from Dick's, extra wide pullup bars), that fit in a doorway. And some dumbbells. My dumbbells range from 20's, 30's & 35's. I could

use heavier for things like heavy pants and lawnmowers (both moves on chest day), but I just increase my reps. I could use a set of 10's to be honest when I do straight arm shoulder fly's and a scarecrow move. Or get yourself a set of heavy bands, to use for lighter moves. I broke the bands I bought at sports authority, so I don't have anything light right now. Man, I could talk for days on here. Get with me on FB if you have questions.

Will do Danny. I already got the DVD's from a friend. I go to the gym every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Should I stop going, or continue as well?

Irish, if you start P90X, stop going to the gym. Unless you have a way of watching the dvd's at the gym and using their weights, I would stop going. My gym membership for a year was $77/mth, or $924/yr. That was a family rate for my son and I. P90x was $120, and then some $ to get the pull up bar and weights. Well worth the savings, AND, I'm not kidding, P90X works ya. Again, better results for me from P90X then anything I've ever done before. You WILL NOT want to do P90X and go to the gym.

Thats cold Kelloggs ha ha ha.
Yeah Irish P90X is the truth man. I dont know how you're doing flys/scarecrows with 20's man Im crying whit my 10's LOL. I fell you with the 35 for lawnmowers. I need to get some heavier dumbbells also. My 20's for heavypants are ok but I know I can do more. I guess most of my problme is I work out at 5:30am. Wake up at 5 pop the Nos and lay back in the bed for 30min then do my workout. After workout get the protein drink.

Yeah Wig, I need a lighter weight for those moves. My reps are way low on that stuff with the 20's. Reverse flip grip twist, those suck with the 20's. I have to go buy some 10's to have proper form in order to get the full benefit of the move. I know you get up early, and I commend you for that, I couldn't do that, but I may have to soon try, based on a new job. Anyway, keep after it Wig, that last 30 days is the eye popper. Your body will take off on those last 30 days, I promise.

Hey Guys! Been visiting the site weekly but first post in a long time. Danny is right, P90X is the real deal. I did it from April till early July last year and lost 3" off waist & 20 pounds and I did so even by only following the "food part" of the equation so so, in other words I did not hesitate to cheat every now & then. I did do the full 90 days program for exercice. I intend to do a 2nd round in April. I have only gained 2 pounds since stopping last year but have lost some muscle.

Sup fellas,
I'm on week 4, just finish core synergistics. I'm flopping around like a fish out of water doing superman bananas. Anyway, i'm down five pounds and got 4 abs rolling in. Still looking for the other two, and trying to burn a bit more fat for more shred. Although I can't start over on the 9th, i'll be there with you anyway. P90x has taken over my life, somebody "X" me!

That's awesome DakPak! You will be amazed when doing this program with others to share the experience with, can really do for you. It will keep you pushing play everyday. Even do it with your wife or girlfriend, that's a bonus if you have someone to do it with at home. I will post something on the main page in case others are not reading this post. I'm getting ready to do chest and back, and ab ripper x now, then tonight, I will do plyometrics. I am now doing 2 workouts a day.

Awesome. Do we all have Facebook? If so, maybe I can start a group page? If not, not sure if we want to keep posting on here? OR, we could start a group and let others around the country join us on the beachbody.com website, with their forums. Thoughts? And for those of you who have thought about P90X.... NOW IS THE TIME!! You will have a support group. No better time than now. TRY IT!!

I think the Facebook page is a good idea. Let me know if you all are going to do that. Also I found out why I was not loseing weight. It was the creatine (however u spell it ha ha ha) after talking to my fitness friend he said you @$$&% that make gain weight LOL. I'm thinking it was like the Nos pills. I stop using it & have notice a difference.

We can add each other as buddies in WOWY, but I don't know if there is a forum group in WOWY. There are groups you can start on the Beachbody website. Maybe I should do that. That way, ANYONE can join us on our healthy quest. Besides, they might bring something to the table with tips and advice. I learned a lot in the group of 300 the first time I did P90X. Plus, made some FB friends out of that group and still talk to those people today. I will do that and let you guys know the site page.

Here is a great link for everyone to have saved. Looks like the message boards are now located through the WOWY site I talked about. Remember, if you sign up, hopefully you are not assigned a FREE coach yet. I'd like to be everyone's FREE coach come April 9th. Now I need to come up with a name for our FORUM page. Colin Cowherd on ESPN has a Forum page: http://teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/46590040

I have submitted for a GROUP FORUM in the beachbody/wowy boards. It takes up to 48 hours to get approved. Once approved, I will put the link here for everyone to start going out there and posting. April 9th is the day I become a coach again. For those of you already doing the program, finish your 12 weeks. Just post with us daily/weekly to share the journey. It would be cool if we were all on day 1, but I don't it will fall that way. KEEP PUSHIN' PLAY! Time for my 2nd workout today.

The reason why your Hamstrings are sore is because you're doing 2-a-days LOL. Man you're acting like Mr. Hoss......X me X me X me LOL. Now I have to act like Tony. "Slow down my brother." Ha ha ha. Man Im doing this work out too much now. Im remebering the lines from it. Sad sad sad. Hey Danny what Nos pills do you take? Looking to change the one Im using now.

I don't take Nos pills. I take the N.O. powders in a drink. Currently I take Black Powder (blue raspberry flavor). However, I only have like 5 little packets left to take, and I'm going back to what really works, N.O. Explode. That stuff or SuperPump 250 are my 2 personal favorites. Can't go wrong with either. All the others, IMO, are just about the hype. You can try others, but pick a flavor you think you can handle in N.O. Explode, and you will be happy you did :)

You will need to find what works for your body, and your budget. I am not a GNC fan, but they have a great sale on something called GNC Pro Performance Get Lean Stack. You get CLA (I take walmart brand), Lean Muscle Meal (basically a protein shake), and something called Thermo Burst (ignites your metabolism before workouts) for just $70. Not a bad deal at all. My 2 fav things that beachbody offers, that are both great, Orange Recover Drink, and the new Shakeology. (www.shakeology.com)

CLA helps to promote a leaner body. It helps to reduce your body fat composition. Everyone and their mom makes CLA, just make sure it has Tonalin CLA in it's makeup. I get mine for $13 @ walmart. You don't even need to workout for this stuff to help you. I am religious about the Orange Recovery Drink by the p90x guys. Tastes amazing, and I feel like I haven't worked out after I drink it. Really helps you re-energize your muscles. I could talk for days on this stuff, lol.

1 more thing, don't kid yourself guys, eating healthy is the best way to get the best gains. I use to take pills in trying to lean down, I tried them all. But when I started eating clean, and more healthy, and cut the junk out...I started to lean down the way I wanted. When you sign up on www.wowy.com, they have Michi's Ladder. A great tool to use for healthy items to eat. Also, when you buy P90X, you will get a nutrition guide that is very helpful as well. Clean Food+exercise= a better you :)
