OK here is where I am...

My current iTunes is installed on my old laptop with ALL of my music on a server.  The mapped drive for music is the M:\ drive...this is the standard for my entire household where all computers have an "M" drive for music that is connected to the home server.

I have a new laptop that I need to move my iPhone to. 

I installed iTunes and copied over the iTunes Library.ITL & iTunes Music Library.XML files.

This should be simple but I am having the HARDEST time.  Unknown errors from iTunes, saying it can't sync.  Sometimes when I plug in my iPhone it wants me to go through the setup process.

Can anyone here help?  What is going on?

All I want to do is put my iPhone on my new laptop with my current library files with the music on the server.  I am not copying music.

Nevermind guys...

I think my solution was to copy only the .ITL file in and open itunes - which then recreates everything new...

I'm at work now - so we will see when I get home.

That's why I don't use an Ipod as MP3 player. It's ridiculous the hoops you have to jump through. I can take my sansa mp3 player and drag and drop music from any computer. Simple.

I hate dealing with Itunes too man, I'm about to do a fresh install of Win 7, and dealing with moving my music folder (that is spread out all over) to an external is a BITCH
